Meet the care leavers of Forget Me Not
Meet the care leavers of Forget Me Not
Last year, Dui had the privilege of travelling to Nepal with the Forget Me Not team to meet with some of the ladies who were supported by the charity, also known as "care leavers".
It was very special for Dui to see first-hand what a difference our support can make. Since being reconnected with their families and with the support of Forget Me Not, these women are now thriving.
Dui says, “I’ve formed such a strong family bond between all of the girls and it’s been wonderful to keep in contact with them most days since our trip. We are one big family and I feel very honoured to be one of the aunties.”
Despite the challenging experiences early on in life, the women Dui met with are now budding lawyers, social workers, teachers, artists, hoteliers and accountants, with many currently studying at a tertiary level.
Along with the Forget Me Not team, they are committed to spreading awareness about the issue of orphanage trafficking in rural, remote and regional communities. Discover what these women are up to now and check out their campaign shoot featuring the Smile Tee!
